Dr. Suri Sehgal is an accomplished individual with a distinguished background in plant genetics and business management. Holding a PhD in plant genetics from Harvard University and a diploma in business management from Harvard Business School, he possesses a unique blend of scientific expertise and entrepreneurial acumen. Driven by a passion for innovation, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the global hybrid-seed industry, establishing and nurturing successful enterprises across the United States, Europe, Egypt and India.
As founder and chairman of Misr Hytech Seed International, SAE-Egypt, Dr. Sehgal’s visionary leadership and deep understanding of the agricultural sector propelled the company, from its inception in 1993, to the forefront of the industry as the largest corn and sorghum seed company in the Middle East.
Bernd (Ben) Sehgal, PhD, is a trustee of S M Sehgal Foundation, India and serves on boards of Sehgal Foundation and William L. Brown Center at Missouri Botanical Garden, USA. Ben studied economics, history and chemistry at the Universities of Iowa the Ohio and earned a PhD in chemistry from Northwestern University, where he also did postdoctoral research in biotechnology and cell biology. Ben has been associated with Hytech India informally for many years and as a board member since 2020.
E. Uma Maheshwar Rao, M.Sc, LLB. is a practising Advocate with over 38 years of standing at the Bar. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from Osmania University, Hyderabad and also pursued M.Sc,.He Enrolled at the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh in the year 1985, Mr. Rao is a Criminal Law practitioner specialising in White Collar offences and high-stake criminal Trials.
Jan Leemans, PhD, member board of directors, Hytech Seed India, Plant molecular biologist, was research director till 1996 of Plant Genetic Systems, Europe’s first biotech company focused on agriculture: He has served on the board of AgrEvo, Nunhems , CropDesign, Devgen, Biotalys and Misr Hytech seed company Ltd .He is advisor to the SM Sehgal family foundation and to IPBO.
Janet MarieGage earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and has served as Chief Financial Officer for both Global Investors LLLP and Sehgal Foundation in the U.S since 2007. She is a member on the board of directors at Hytech Seed India Pvt. Ltd. since February 2022 and served on the Board of Directors of Misr Hytech Seed International S.A.E. ,Egypt, 2010-2019).
Moinuddin H Haroon, Masters in Genetics & Plant breeding from UAS, Bangalore, Started career in the seed industry as a Corn breeder (1996). Joined the Sehgal group in 2005, worked in various capacities & organizations Including Misr Hytech, Egypt as corn breeder (2007-09), headed R&D at Hytech Seed India till 2015, since 2017 serving as Managing Director.
Muralidhar Gupta, PhD, is a plant breeder by profession with a vast experience in plant breeding and seed business management. He was the founding managing director of Pioneer Hi-Bred Seed Nigeria Ltd – Lagos and Hytech Seed India – Hyderabad. Currently he serves as a senior advisor to SM Sehgal Foundation, India’.
Rajat Jay Sehgal, earned degrees in Business Administration/Management Information Systems with emphasis on Computer Science. He serves as executive vice president of Sehgal Foundation in the US and as trustee of S M Sehgal Foundation in India. He also served as executive director of Hytech Seed India, 2015-17.
Raman Kumar Sehgal, MBA, Managing Director & member of the Board of Directors of Misr Hytech Seed International, Egypt. Member of the Board of Directors of Hytech Seed India & Advisor to the board of trustees of the Sehgal foundation. He was also the board member of AFSTA and Chairman for the board of Directors, New Cairo International School, Egypt.
Ryan Clutter earned a degree in Computer Science from Grand View University and currently serves as the CTO for the Iowa Cubs. He previously worked as a Senior Network Engineer at a mortgage company and regional hospital, as well as CTO of Global Investors. He is also serving as a board member of Sehgal Foundation, USA.
